Ruud van Nistelrooy

Ruud van Nistelrooy, born 1 July 1976 in Oss, started at Den Bosch in 1993 and made his name at PSV Eindhoven with two Eredivisie titles. A move to Manchester United agreed in 2000 collapsed over injury and went through a year later for a then British record £19 million. He scored 150 goals in 219 games for United and twice won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award. Real Madrid signed him in 2006, where he took two La Liga titles, before spells at Hamburg and Málaga. He was top scorer in three Champions League seasons and remains the Dutch record scorer in the competition with 56 goals, and he won 70 caps for the Netherlands.

Netherlands and Manchester United, evenly split

The listing divides almost equally between Netherlands and Manchester United, with only a single PSV item and one Real Madrid shirt. Seasons run from 1999 to 2008–09. The number identifies the team: 10 at United, 9 for the Netherlands — and the feed spells his name several ways, from V.Nistelrooy to v. Nistelrooy, so search on the surname alone.

Not everything here is a shirt

A noticeable group of items are Nike graphic tees, casual cotton shirts with his name and number rather than match kit. Others are marked Player Issue, made to squad specification, and one is a numbered limited edition from a run of 5,000. There is also a full kit listed as shirt and shorts together. Condition grades range from 4/10 to 10/10, with most items around 6/10, and prices vary widely across that spread.
