Fernando Torres

Fernando Torres, born 20 March 1984 in Fuenlabrada, was nicknamed El Niño as a teenager and kept the name for the rest of his career. He came through Atlético Madrid’s youth system, debuted in 2001 and left with 75 goals in 174 La Liga appearances. He joined Liverpool in 2007 and became the fastest player in the club’s history to reach 50 league goals, then moved to Chelsea in January 2011 for £50 million, at the time a Premier League record. Spells at AC Milan, a return to Atlético and a final season with Sagan Tosu followed. For Spain he won 110 caps and scored 38 goals, finding the net in the finals of both Euro 2008 and Euro 2012.

How the listing is weighted

The distribution is lopsided and worth knowing. Around seven in ten items are Liverpool shirts; Spain and Atlético Madrid supply most of the rest, with a few AC Milan pieces. Chelsea shirts are almost absent despite the three seasons he spent there, so a Torres Chelsea shirt is the hard one to find here. Nearly all shirts carry the number 9 — sometimes printed as F.Torres to separate him from other players of the same surname.

Condition and seasons

Items span 2001 to 2020, but the 2000s dominate, with the 2006–08 and 2008–09 Liverpool kits appearing most frequently. Home shirts outnumber away, and the third shirts from his Anfield years are well represented. Grades run from 4/10 to 10/10 with a typical shirt around 6/10. A few items are marked Player Issue, meaning squad-specification rather than retail.
