Oranje on American soil

The Netherlands came to the USA for the 1994 World Cup and reached the quarterfinals, where they lost 3-2 to Brazil in Dallas in one of the best games of the tournament. Earnie Stewart, who was born in the Netherlands and played his club soccer there, was in the US squad that same summer. The two countries met again in the round of 16 at the 2022 World Cup, a 3-1 Dutch win. Ruud Gullit later coached the LA Galaxy, so the Dutch link to the American game runs deeper than one tournament.

Three World Cup finals and one trophy

The Dutch reached the World Cup final in 1974, 1978 and 2010 and lost all three. Their one major title came at Euro 88, with Marco van Basten’s volley in the final against the Soviet Union. The 1985-88 home jersey from the years leading up to that title is the most common vintage piece on this page.

adidas, Lotto, Nike

adidas made the jersey in the 1980s, Lotto had it in the mid-90s, and Nike has supplied the team since the late 1990s. Most of the jerseys here are Nike, from the 2000s and 2010s, along with player issue versions and training gear. Arjen Robben is by far the most printed name, followed by Dennis Bergkamp, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Robin van Persie and Virgil van Dijk.

Sizing for US buyers

European sizes run small compared with American sportswear, especially on recent Nike jerseys. If you are between sizes, go one up. Every jersey shows its size and a condition score from 1 to 10.
