Genoa

Genoa Cricket and Football Club was founded on 7 September 1893 as Genoa Cricket & Athletic Club and is Italy‘s oldest surviving football team. It was set up to represent England abroad, and its first shirts were white, matching the cricket section. Italians were not permitted to join until the football side became predominant in 1897 under James Richardson Spensley. Genoa have won nine Italian championships, the first being the inaugural national title in 1898 and the last after the 1923–24 season, making them the fourth most successful Italian club by championships, plus one Coppa Italia. They have played at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris since 1911, sharing it with Sampdoria; the derby between the two, the Derby della Lanterna, was first played in 1946.

What the listing covers

Stock runs from around 1989 to the current season. The 1990s are the single best-covered decade here, which is unusual for an Italian club listing on this site, with the 2000s, 2010s and 2020s each contributing a solid block. Nothing from the championship-winning eras survives — those are a century old.

Suppliers, types and match-prepared kit

No single brand dominates: Kappa, Lotto and Asics appear in roughly equal numbers, with Errea and Castore on other items, so the label is a weaker dating clue here than at most clubs. Home shirts are the largest group, but training tops, away shirts, goalkeeper shirts and jackets together outnumber them. A notable block is marked Match Issue or Player Issue, carrying squad names and numbers. Condition grades run from 4/10 to 10/10 and cluster around 8/10, and prices are moderate, with the 1990s shirts the most expensive.
