José Manuel “Pepe” Reina was born on 31 August 1982, the son of Miguel Reina, himself a goalkeeper for Barcelona and Atlético Madrid. Pepe came through Barcelona’s youth system, made his La Liga debut in the 2000–01 season and moved to Villarreal in 2002. His Liverpool career began with the 2005 UEFA Super Cup, and he stayed eight consecutive seasons as first choice, saving three of West Ham United’s four penalties in the FA Cup final shoot-out. Later moves took him to Napoli, Bayern Munich, Milan, Aston Villa, Lazio and finally Como.
The shirts gathered here are overwhelmingly one thing: Liverpool goalkeeper shirts numbered 25. Almost every item is a Liverpool piece, with only a single Spain shirt alongside them, and the seasons run from 2006–07 to 2012–13 — his Anfield years, not his Villarreal, Napoli or Milan spells. Roughly two thirds of the items are ordinary retail goalkeeper shirts; the rest are marked Player Issue, meaning they were cut and finished to squad specification rather than sold in shops. Several of those are TechFit versions with the tighter, bonded panels used by professionals.
Grades on these run from 5/10 to 9/10, with most sitting around 6/10. That scale describes wear — fading, cracked printing, bobbling — not whether a shirt is wearable. Goalkeeper shirts from this era were made in bright, heavily printed fabrics that show age faster than outfield jerseys, so a 6/10 keeper shirt often looks more worn than a 6/10 home shirt of the same season. Sizes on offer skew small, with S and M appearing far more often than large sizes.
